Hello Karoly
Yes I thought as much.
Are you going to be keeping them frame?
Kind Regards
Scott Connor
Hi Scott!
Thank you for your response.
I asked Adam at Cove about this hole-thing last week. He received the same photo as you. Here you can read his replay:
"Hey Karoly,
It is hard to tell by the picture but if the hole is as small as you describe there is nothing to worry about. It is not that uncommon, more so in aluminum frames, to have little pin holes appear in one or two of the welds. It happens as part of the welding process and its basically a little pocket of gas that has gotten stuck in the weld and has broken the surface.
A crack will never generate from a small hole like that, especially in that location. Cracks genarally occur on the sides of the weld primarily due to incorrect welding temperatures, major variances in tube mitering tolerances or simply age. Besides as Stuart said, the Handjob is a tough beast.
What you have done is correct, clear nailpolish is a fine solution.
So not to worry, go ride!
If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask,
Adam

Being honest, I dont't really want to send the frame back if it is not absolutely necessary. The hole seems to be so small, that I should have never noticed it if I didn't apply the anti-rust stuff. The anti-corrosion fluid is called "CRC 3-36" made by CRC Industries Europe. You can read the description here:

So, I'll try take better photos and send to you.
Best regards,
én

Hi Scott
I have not experienced this before so I will need to run it by Cove to see whether they would cover it under a warranty but to do that I am going to need some much clearer photos, if he can’t come up with better pictures, the frame will have to come back for us to photograph it, but there would still be no guarantee Cove would cover it. They would also need to know exactly what anti-corrosion fluid he has used as it seems quite a coincidence that these spots have happened since applying it.
Regards
Keith

Subject: Cove Handjob frame question (Thread:291897)
Hi!
I've purchased a Cove Handjob XC frame from CRC a few weeks ago. I sprayed anti-corrosion stuff into the tubes. I wiped off the excessive stuff, so the outer surface of the frame was clean, but only 20 minutes later, I noticed, that a little spot has appeared at the top of the bb-seattube-downtube junction on the right side of the frame. I've wipped it off again, but 15 minutes later the spot appeared again. So, I looked at the frame more closely and noticed a little hole in the welded area. It is tiny, but it is there.
I've attached a picture taken of the hole. It is not the best quality, but i think you can see what i mean. I rode the bike two or three times, so the hole is covered with a little clear nail-polish now to prevent corrosion, that's why it looks a little bigger in the pic than in life.
Do I have to send my frame back, or that is not a problem? Should I worry about it or not? Can a crack form from this little hole?
Best regards,
én
