Greenpeace International is looking for someone skilled at blogging and all that fancy internet stuff to join us for six months as an online activist intern. You will help us promote climate change campaigns on the internet, mobilizing others around the world to join us and take action online and where they live.
You will work in our Amsterdam office with the Community Manager and the Web Editor.

You will spend roughly 50% of your time communicating our campaign messages with people on blogs, mailing lists and websites about activism, campaigning and current affairs. For this you need to:
* Be enthusiastic about making other people enthusiastic about taking action,
* Have good written English (plus one other language),
* Be familiar with blogs and social places on the internet (myspace, chat, community websites, mailing lists, forums, etc.),
* Be comfortable promoting an idea and defending an argument,
* And be good at multi-tasking.
Project coordination:
The other half of your work will be to lead an international project to document how you and people like you in Greenpeace do online outreach. You will be the editor and project coordinator. The project will require good interpersonal and intercultural skills, as you need to get information from Greenpeace colleagues around the world. You will develop the document as a wiki, maintaining and improving pages as they are collectively edited (think Wikipedia).
The project will last the duration of your internship. When complete, you will have produced a living document, used regularly by Greenpeace online activists and other Communications staff to document and follow best practices in online outreach.

* Experience using the Internet as a communications tool; and familiarity with online media and community tools (e.g. blogging, mailing lists, forums/discussion boards, and online social networks)
* Experience in Greenpeace or an NGO preferred but not essential
* Team-player
