Nine years ago I have convinced the local authorities in Senj Senj in Croatia to organize an amateur MTB race from the seashore to the mountain peak Zavizan 1594 m high. The race has become the most popular amateur MTB event in Croatia. Now I regeret that few MTB cyclists from abroad come and I would like to attract some from Hungary.
The organizer of the race is Senj Tourist Board TZ Senj - Naslovnica and they can offer you all information. They shall start registration of participants in May.
The date of the race this year 2010 is Saturday June 19th. Fit riders start from the port in Senj to make 38 km and pleasure riders can start from the village Oltari 975 m high and make about 20 km only. Finish line for all is at the mountain refuge Zavi¾an at 1594 m.
Last years race is on Youtube YouTube - Uspon Zavizan 2009 . Search information on internet using keywords Hillclimb Zavizan , Uspon na Zavizan or Aufstieg auf Zavizan.
