Slingshot Introduces the New Bigshot

Slingshot Bicycle Company has recently added a new bike to their lineup. Their newest mountain bike, the BigShot, features wheels that are 29 inches versus the standard 26 inches, to offer a faster, smoother, and more effortless ride.

“A Slingshot rider urged us to develop a model like this. We did, and he was right — the larger wheels, and the flexibility of our bike, were made for each other," said Marty Alwood, Slingshot’s Product Manager.

Jason Tillinghast, Sales/Marketing Manager for Eko Sport, Inc., a manufacturer of specialty bike products, recently had the chance to test the bike at the 24 Hours of Moab, a grueling mountain biking event. While at the event, he also tested another similarly equipped 26" bike on the course.

For his first lap, he rode the competitor bike, and for his second lap he rode the Slingshot, and it took him less time! What’s more, because he was wearing a heart rate/calorie counter he could keep track of the amount of effort he expended on each of the bikes. The results indicated that he had burned 300 less calories on the BigShot!

“I immediately noticed that the bigger wheels, combined with the Slingshot design, on the BigShot made for a much smoother and more efficient ride — I rode right through the entire first sandpit without a struggle! I was carving turns like it was fresh powder," said Tillinghast. By comparison, he found the other bike to be, “all over the place in the sand."

Alwood further noted that, “The BigShot is perfect for the rider who is looking for a very unique and versatile bike that will perform well in a variety of conditions. And because it is a folding bike, they can easily fold it up and take it with them, or store it, anywhere."

Ez a váz a "Két Kerékkel a Földön Team"-nek készült. Az egykori MBAH azon 10 monti közé sorolták, melyek igazán fontos szerepet játszottak a történelemben. De szerintem jobb a falon lógva tartani. Hiszen nem csak olyanokat készítettek, amiknek értelme van, ugye, láttunk példát erre.
Ha mondjuk az ember nekiteker egy kisebb bukkanónak és a levegõben ívre fordítja a gépet meg van rá az esélye, hogy szépen kempingbicikli módjára összecsukja, nem? Lehet, hogy ez a cél? A hordozhatóság, bár nem hinném, hogy Amerikában ne fért volna el a Ford F150-es platóján akár széthajtva is.

Szerintem ez a váz egy hülyeség. Nagyon hiányzik onnan egy csõ ami megtartaná a középcsapágyat a fejcsõvel szemben. Egy-két csõrös és megnyekken. szerintem. Van olyan terhelés aminek szinte semmi nem "tart ellen".
